The Royal Society of Arts
The Royal Society of Arts (RSA) is the oldest and one of the three largest vocational examination boards in the U.K. RSA schemes recognise achievement to nationally and internationally known standards. These are constantly updated to meet the changing needs of education, employment and training.

RSA centres are approved against stringent criteria and includes Schools, Colleges, Training Organisations, Universities and Companies and are to be found in 61 countries worldwide.

Sociedad Hispano Mundial is an official Royal Society of Arts Centre (Centre No. 77670), and as such offers courses leading to the RSA Certificate in Teaching Foreign Languages to Adults.
SHM personnel have 17 years' experience in teacher training and offer the Certificate course to Teachers of English and to Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language.

Course Leading to the Certificate in Teaching Foreign Languages to Adults includes:

The course which is standardised by the Royal Society of Arts, and internationally recognised, is intended to provide initial training to enable entry into a career in Teaching Foreign Languages to Adults.

Assessment Procedure:
Candidates are expected to compile and present for assessment a portfolio containing evidence of their competence. This will comprise Tutor/Assessor write-ups of classes given during “teaching practice, peer and self evaluation of own performance during teaching practice, video tapes of classes and feedback sessions given during teaching practice and written assignments in order to further demonstrate one´s underpinning knowledge and competence.

Portfolios of evidence are assessed against the RSA standards of competence by tutors/assessors trained in assessment techniques and appointed by the RSA, and are further verified by an internal verifier within the centre and an external verifier who will visit at some point during or after the course.

Certification:
Candidates reaching the required standard after assessment of competence in all the relevant units and elements required will be awarded an RSA certificate.

*TEACHING PRACTICE will comprise the giving of foreign language lessons to a group or groups of volunteer language students which will be assessed by your course tutor and on occasions, the internal verifier, and which will also be recorded on video for the purposes of personal feedback and as a checking mechanism for both candidate, tutor/assessor and verifier alike.

After teaching practice there will be time set aside for self/peer/tutor evaluation. These sessions, as in all evaluation, are positive in aspect and are designed to assist the candidate to be aware of his/her strengths and weaknesses and how to make the former and improve upon the latter.

Terms and Conditions.
The price of the Course is 237.000 pesetas (approx. US$1,550.00). A deposit of 25.000 (approx. US$164.00) pesetas reserves your place, the balance being due prior to commencement of Course.

Sociedad Hispano Mundial reserves the right to cancel courses and in the case of student cancellation, the 25.000 pesetas deposit will be retained to cover administration charges. In the case of cancellation by Sociedad Hispano Mundial the deposit will be refunded in full.

Accommodation
Full board accommodation with host family - 25.000 pesetas (approx. US$164.00) is available. Please contact us for further accommodation options - half-board, Pension with private bath, 3 & 4 star hotels.

Additional Optional Activities
Granada being the vibrant city it is offers a wide range of activities. Sociedad Hispano Mundial can can provide a comprehensive selection of day and weekend activities and excursions including water/snow skiing and beach and mountain excursions.
